The drawbridge was replaced with a sliding bridge. This is the only sliding bridge in Poland, so it's worth spending a moment of holiday time to see it.

Wieprza, which flows into the sea, separates Darłówko into the eastern and western parts. A wooden drawbridge was attached to both banks of Wieprza. It was modernized in the nineteenth century and served until the 70s of the last century. Since the port of Darłówko began to be expanded, the old bridge was demolished in 1977. Until 1988, a ferry operated in Wieprz. That year, an unusual, only one of its kind, a sliding bridge in Darłówko was commissioned. In addition to the construction, the control tower also has an unusual appearance - it is called by many a "UFO". The bridge is intended for pedestrians and emergency vehicles.
